Lodging and Travel

The conference will be held at the historic Carolina Inn, and all participants will also lodge there. The Carolina Inn is at 211 Pittsboro St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. Students will be assigned two (2) to a room.

Directions

By Plane

  • A number of different airlines fly into Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU)
  • RDU is approximately 30 minutes from UNC and our conference hotel

 

 By Train or Bus

  • Train service to Chapel Hill is provided by Amtrak
  • Bus service to Chapel Hill is provided by Greyhound Lines Inc.
  • Both stations are located in Durham, approximately 25 minutes from UNC and our conference hotel

 

By Car

From Raleigh, RDU, and points east:
  • I-40 West to Exit 273A
  • Turn right at exit onto NC 54 West
  • Continue onto Raleigh Rd
  • Turn right onto South Columbia St
  • Turn left onto W Cameron Ave
  • Turn left onto Pittsboro St
  • The Carolina Inn is on the left
From Charlotte, Winston Salem, Greensboro, and points west:
  • I-40 East to Exit 266
  • Turn right at exit onto NC 86 South (MLK Jr. Blvd formerly Airport Rd- turns into Columbia St.)
  • Turn right onto W Cameron Ave
  • Turn left onto Pittsboro St
  • The Carolina Inn is on the left
From Durham and points north:
  • Take I-85 South to US 501 Bypass South
  • Take US 501 Bypass South
  • Take US-15 South towards Chapel Hill
  • Keep right towards UNC
  • Turn right onto S Columbia St
  • Turn left onto W Cameron Ave
  • Turn left onto Pittsboro St
  • The Carolina Inn is on the left
